2014 Summer Pool League

The 3rd Wick & District Summer Pool League (Sponsored By The Commercial Hotel) will be kicking off next month, and all pubs/clubs have until Sunday 4th of May to enter their teams.

The league will consist of teams of 4, and is £25 entry per team. Format will be decided when all teams have entered, but will most likely be kept the same (league & then knockouts).

You can enter your team by paying cash to Ryan Carter, or by bank transfer or paypal. Just contact us to enter your team.

Wick & Thurso Join Forces For Super 11's

March 19, 2014
Players from both Wick & Thurso pool leagues joined forces in Ayr last weekend at the Scottish Pool Association's Super 11's team event.  The boys surpassed all expectations by finishing top of their group of 6 and making it to the last 16.  In the groups stages they defeated teams from Dingwall, Cumbernauld, Causeway & Clackmannanshire.  Their fantastic run in this tournament ended at the last 16 knockout stage when they were defeated by a strong East Fife Team.

Children In Need 2013

The 4th annual Children In Need pool tournament took place in the Camps Bar last Saturday, which saw two Thurso & District Pool League players make it to the final.  In the top half of the draw, Stevie Gray cruised to the final thanks to wins over Shane Honeyman, Shaun Truman and Lesley Ann Begg.  The shock of the first round was when Camps1 player Begg knocked out Retro's George Smith 3-2.  The bottom half of the draw saw defending champion Ryan Carter go through to semi's after wins against...

Smith Ends Carter's Streak

August 12, 2013
George Smith defeated Ryan Carter in Sunday's final to close the gap at the top of the leaderboard & ending Carter's run of 6 straight tournament wins.  Smith had defeated Ciaran Duffy and Tam Sutherland on route to his 4-2 final win over Carter.  Ryan is still top of the leaderboard with 76 points, George is in 2nd place with 50 points.

Andy Beats Ryan In Sundays Final

March 11, 2013
A high quality final in the Camps Bar on Sunday saw Crown2 player Andy Smith win the deciding frame against Ryan Carter for a 4-3 win.  Andy beat John Cowie 2-0 in the first round before beating Shane Honeyman in the quarters 3-1.  Camps1 player Ciaran Duffy played very well to get himself into the semi's, defeating James Riach 2-1 then Mark Macdonald 3-0.  Andy & Ciaran both played well in the semi's but Andy grabbed a 3-0 win.  Ryan Carter quickly went 2-0 ahead in his quarter final match a...

Smith Wins Event 2

Seaforth Club player George Smith won event 2 of The Camps Bar Challenge Shield last Saturday.  Smith beat Des Mcleod 2-1 in the Quarters and Andy Smith 3-2 in the semi's to book his place in the final. Ryan Carter faced his team mate Bruce Honeyman in the last 16, and after a very close match it was Carter who progressed to the quarter finals. Hill Wins Event 1 Of Challenge Shield

Camps "2" player Martin Hill played exceptionally well in Event 1 of The Camp's Bar Challenge Shield to take home the prize money & 10 points.  Martin won a very tight Quarter Final match against Seaforth Club's George Smith 2-1, before beating Camps "1" player Donald Manson 3-0 in the semi finals.  The other half of the draw saw Suzanne Carter defeat Ian Campbell 2-0 in the last 16 and then beat Aidan Ross 2-0 in the Quarters to reach the Semi Final.  Shane Honeyman beat Ciaran Duffy 2-0 in ...

Week 1 In Singles League

George Smith and his namesake Andy were involved in high quality match in week 1 of Wick & District's Singles Pool League.  They went frame for frame until George won the decider for a 6-5 win.  Greg Thomson & Tam Sutherland were also involved in a final frame decider with Greg winning the match 6-5.  Ryan Carter quickly disposed of Silver Fox with a 6-0 win.  Back to back total clearances in frames 3 & 4 helped secure Ryan a 6-0 whitewash.  Other results included 6-2 wins for Camps1 players ...

Carter wins First Tourney Of 2013

January 6, 2013
The first tournament of 2013 was won by Camps2 player Ryan Carter, after defeating two of his team mates on the way winning this past Thursday. 

Martin Hill put up a good fight against Carter in the quarter finals but was edged out 3-1. Carter then went on to beat Shane Honeyman 3-0 in the semis.
