November 21, 2012Camps "2" player Ryan Carter defeated former team mate James Riach in the final of the third annual Children In Need Pool Tournament this past Saturday. Carter defeated Des Mcleod 3-1 in the last 16 before he went on to face 2 time champion David Hendry in the quarter finals. Carter (who was defeated 3-2 in the previous two years finals against Hendry) exacted his revenge as he won 3-0 against his Camps "2" team mate. Another 3-0 win in the semi finals (This time against Camps "1" player Liam More) saw him reach his third final in a row. Riach defeated Greg Thomson in the last 16 thanks to a 3-1 scoreline, and then went on to face an in-form Mark Mcdonald in the quarters. Shane Honeyman put up a good effort against Riach in the semi-final but lost out 3-1. The final was played to an extremely high standard which saw Riach take a 3-2 lead after some close tactical frames. Carter left Riach with 7 balls on the table in frame 6 before winning the decider to become the 2012 Children In Need champion.
