Camps Bar "2" are the first team to qualify for the Wick & District Summer Pool League semi final play-off stage after defeating defending champions Queens Hotel on Monday night.  The 2012 champions got the better of the current holders in a match where both sets of players played some outstanding pool.  Some nice clearances from Camps "2" helped them take a 3-1 lead, before great teamwork won the Queens side the two doubles games to level the match at 3-3.  The Camps team took the lead again after wins from Alec Thompson and Ryan Carter, but Scott Risbridger kept his Queens side in the match to reduce their deficit to 5-4.  The final frame could have went either way but it was Gary Oag who held his nerve to clinch victory for Camps "2".  Graham Harper's Francis Street Club side recorded their first win of the summer league season thanks to a 6-4 home win against Retro "2".  Ricky Hernandez was the star man as he won all three of his games to help his side move off the bottom of the table.  Suzanne Carter's Camps "1" side were impressive once again as they eased past the Mountain Dew with an 8-2 scoreline.  They will face Retro "1" next week in a match that will see the winner secure their place in the semi final play-offs.  The Commercial and Sinclair Bay still have a chance to make the play-offs, but their 5-5 draw against each other wasnt the score either team would have been hoping for.  The Lybster side played a great match and were one frame away from victory at 5-4, but Sinclair Bay captain Greg Simpson won the final frame to end the match in a draw.
