Top Two Teams Record Impressive Victories

Wick & District Pool League's top two sides Camps2 & Crown1 recorded very impressive victories over Seaforth Club and The Commercial respectively on Monday night. Alan Larnach's Crown1 side remain in the title hunt after a great team performance helped them to a 9-2 win over The Commercial. Defending champions Camps2 stay two points clear at the top of division one after a convincing 10-1 win over Craig Durrand's Seaforth side. The Camps team got off to a perfect start as both Ryan Carter and Bruce Honeyman knocked in 8-ball total clearances. Alec Thompson played well to make it 3-0 before Martin Hill left his opponent with 7 balls on the table. Ian Mcdonald made it 5-0 with a great pot on the black, before Dale Johnston got a frame on the board for Seaforth. Camps2 then won the next 5 frames in quick succession which rounded of an outstanding team performance. Ryan Cook's Blackstairs2 side met Tam Sutherland's Blackstaris1 team in what is always an entertaining derby match. Both teams were evenly matched all the way and it was Arthur Bruce who sunk the winning black in the deciding frame for a 6-5 win to the second team.
Greg Simpson's Sinclair Bay side got back to winning ways in style on Monday night, disposing of the Mountain Dew with a 10-1 scoreline. Harper's played some good pool to defeat Bayview2 8-3, and Crown2 edged out Camps1 with a 6-5 win. Crown player Andy Smith knocked in an 8-ball clearance in his doubles frame.
