The top three teams in the Wick & District Pool League's first
division all recorded impressive victories this week. Colin Banks'
Crown1 side got revenge for their defeat earlier in the season against
Blackstairs2, winning 9-2 in a one sided match. Bayview1 captain Steve
Atkins left George Smith with 7 balls on the table, and his team then
went on to defeat Camps1 7-4. Camps2 remain top after a 9-2 win against
the Seaforth Club. The league leaders won the first 6 frames, but Gary
Mcalpine got a frame on the board for the Seaforth Club with a
fantastic total clearance. Blackstairs1 remain in fifth place after a
7-4 win away to Francis Street Club1, and Queens are still bottom after
losing 7-4 to Commercial.
Sinclair Bay stretched their frame difference lead over Harper's after
demolishing Mountain Dew1 10-1. Harper's fought hard to get a 6-5 win
against Francis Street Club2. The other match in division two went the
way of Crown2, as they put in a great performance to beat Mountain Dew2
8-3.
