The first leg of the Rockwater Shield Quarter Finals took place on
Monday with 2 of the matches being postponed due to weather conditions.
Defending
Champions Camps2 faced off against The Crown1 with both teams looking
for that advantage to take into the 2nd leg.
All of the singles
matches could have went either way but it was the Camps2 that took a 4-2
lead. The first 2 doubles matches were shared taking it to 5-3, and
the Crown looked like they were going to fight their way back into the
match. But that was halted when Alec Thomson showed great potting
ability to clear a very difficult table helping the Camps2 to a 6-3 win.
In
the other tie that took place, it was a battle of the 2nd division
teams. Mountain Dew2 and The Seaforth Club shared the opening 4 frames,
but the latter then took control of the match going on to win 6-2.
The
Seaforth Club now look good for a place in the semi-finals in their
debut season.
