Steve Atkins Bayview1 side moved back to the top of division one on Monday night, after Crown1 held Camps2 to a 6-6 draw in week ten of the Wick & District Pool League. Alan Larnach's Crown1 side played some exceptional pool as they came from 2-0 down to lead 5-2, before Camps2 battled back to earn the draw. Stevie Wyllie's 8-ball clearance for the Crown was the highlight of this very entertaining match. The Seaforth Club side put in a good performance against Bayview1 with a lot of the frames being extremely close, but the Lybster side won a vital three points with a 9-3 victory. Ryan Cook's Blackstairs team are now seven points clear of the relegation zone after an impressive 8-4 win against The Commercial. The Queens are fighting hard to stay in divsion one, and their 7-5 win over Sinclair Bay is a massive boost in their quest to stay up. Harry Candeland and James Dow were on form as they helped the Queens take a 4-2 lead after the singles, and Brian Robertson won on his return to the side after three years out. Sinclair Bay battled their way back into the match at 6-5 down, but Dow and Candeland held their nerve to win the last frame to take all three points.
Retro1 have secured the second division title, and kept up their 100% record thanks to an 8-4 derby victory over Retro2. Only three points seperate five teams, as the race for the second promotion place hots up. Lesley Ann Begg and Mark Alexander won all of their games as they helped Camps1 to 7-5 win over Harpers, which see's them move up to joint 2nd place alongside Retro2. The Francis Street Club, who continue to impress in their debut season, sealed a 7-5 win over Crown2 to keep themselves in the fight for promotion. The club were 6-1 ahead before Graham Harper and Brian Munro clinched the all important frame to secure all three points. Mountain Dew won the battle of the bottom two sides, running out 7-5 winners against Bayview2.
