Wick & District Pool League

The top two teams in division 2 battled it out as The Queens2 hosted The Seaforth Club.
The match was closely fought as expected, with both teams playing some quality pool.  Former Captains Cup winner Martin Hill returned to The Wick & District Pool League to play for Queens2 in this match, and Hill showed that he hasnt lost his touch as he potted the all important winning black to clinch a 6-5 victory for Queens2.  The Queens side now sit joint top of division 2 with a game in hand.
The other matches in division 2 saw Crown2 record their first league win of the season, beating Bayview2 6-5 and Mountain Dew2 winning their derby match 8-3 against Mountain Dew1.
The first division title race is hotting up after league leaders Bayview1 slipped up against Camps1.  The match went all the way to the deciding frame, thanks to Andrew Mcleod winning all three of his frames for the Camps side. In the deciding frame, it was Camps1 captain Liam Ewart who rounded off a fine clearance with an exceptional double on the black & winning the match 6-5.
Camps2 are back in the title picture after defeating a strong Francis Street Club side.  Both teams played to a high standard in a thoroughly entertaining match, but it was Camps2 who recorded a 7-4 victory with Bruce Honeyman potting the match winning black.
There was more entertainment in division one with The Blackstairs Derby taking place.  The first team got off to a great start going 4-0 up, but the second team clawed their way back into it taking the match to 5-5 and a deciding frame.  Experience proved to be the key factor as Blackstairs1 got the job done with a 6-5 scoreline.
The Commercial's good run of form was abruptly ended with an outstanding 10-1 win for Crown1.
The Division One title race has had many twists and turns this season, and with only 6 games remaining, the question is will there be another?
