Captains Cup Information

April 1, 2014
Retro will host the 32nd annual Captains Cup event this Sataurday.

No entries will be taken after midnight on Friday, so teams have until then to submit their 2 players plus any other players who want to be put on the reserve list.  If there are spaces left, then those who are on the reserve list will have the opportunity to get into the tournament.  Any draw for reserve players will be done on a pro-rata basis to make it fair for all teams.

Camps "2" Pocket League & Cup Double

Camps Bar "2" have completed the league & cup double after defeating The Francis Street Club 6-4 in this seasons Rockwater Shield Final.  Danny Innes and Ryan Carter got the final underway and both played some great pool, but it was Carter who edged it after escaping two snookers to give the Camps side an early lead.  Ricky Hernandez and Michael Mackay helped put the club side 2-1 ahead, before a great display from Alec Thomson leveled the final at 2-2.  Brian Munro and Graham Harper have pla...

8th League Championship For Camps "2"

Bruce Honeyman's Camps2 side have won the Wick & District Pool League division one championship for an eighth time, and their fifth in succession.  The Camps Bar side secured the victory they required against Blackstairs to win the closest title race in the pool leagues history.  The champions were two frames away from letting the title slip through their fingers, as they trailed a highly motivated Blackstairs team 4-2 after the singles.  An outstanding clearance from Ryan Carter in frame sev...

Camps Teams Score Big Victories

The top three teams in Wick & District Pool League's Division One all recorded victories on Monday night, and are all in with a chance of winning the title with only one match remaining.  Bruce Honeyman's Camps2 side remain on top after their 9-3 win relegated Craig Durrand's Seaforth Club side to division two pool next season.  Bayview1 were impressive in their 8-4 home win against Sinclair Bay and remain in second spot, eight frames behind the league leaders.  Crown1 battled back from 4-2 d...

Francis St Club & Camps2 Make It To Cup Final

Graham Harper's Francis Street Club side have made it to Wick & District Pool League's Rockwater Shield Final in their debut season.  A fantastic team performance helped them ease past first division side Commercial 12-4 on aggregate.  After their 6-2 first leg win, the club side required only three frames and were in no mood for messing about as they quickly booked their place in the final.  Fine performances from Ricky Hernandez and Danny Innes helped them take a 2-0 lead, before captain Gr...

Queens Clinch Vital Win Over Seaforth

The Queens pool team recorded their most important win of the season on Monday night, and now move out of the relegation zone after their 7-5 win over the Seaforth Club.  James Dow got the Queens team off to a good start, before Kevin Lightly leveled the match at one frame each.  Kevin Beales and Craig Durrand played well to give the club side a 3-1 lead, but wins from Brian Robertson and Jim Bain made it 3-3 at the halfway stage of the match.  After the next two frames were shared, it was Ro...

Crown1 Knock Bayview1 Off Top Spot

An outstanding team performance from Crown1 saw them knock Bayview1 off top spot thanks to an 8-4 victory in week 11 of the Wick & District Pool League.  Ted Gunn and Alan Larnach both completed total clearances for their respective teams in this match, but Willie Miller was the man of the match as his superb play helped him win all of his games.  Bruce Honeyman's Camps2 side move back to the top of division one after an extremely hard fought victory against Greg Simpson's Sinclair Bay side. ...

Francis Street Club Shock Commercial In Cup Upset

Retro1 Win 2nd Division Title
