Bayview Defeat Sinclair Bay

Bayview defeated Sinclair Bay in week three of the Wick & District Summer Pool League thanks to some exceptional play from Ted Gunn and Andrew Keith.  The Lybster pair helped their side take a 3-1 lead after the first set of singles.  Sinclair Bay pulled it back to 3-3 as they took both doubles frames.  Gunn and Keith were impressive again in their second singles, sealing the three points as they took a 6-3 lead.  Greg Simpson defeated Steve Atkins in the final frame to end the match 6-4 to Bayview.
Blacktairs1 remain in second place thanks to an 8-2 win against The Queens.  Stuart Mckenzie, Perry Campbell and Tam Sutherland continued their excellent form this season, winning all of their games.  Danny Cormack and Jim Bain got the two consolation frames for The Queens side.
The Commercial were on form on Monday night, putting in a good performance against the league leaders Camps2.  The two teams could not be separated in the early stages with the match tied at 2-2, but the Camps side were impressive in their doubles frames as they stretched their lead to 5-3.  George Zindilis defeated Bruce Honeyman in the next frame to pull the Commercial side to within one frame of snatching a draw.  The last frame saw Ryan Carter eventually defeat Robertson in a close game to secure another three points for Camps2.  
Blackstairs2 forfeited their match against Camps1.

Camps "2" Go Top After 9-1 Win

Camps2 go top of the table thanks to a 9-1 derby win over Camps1 in week two of the Wick & District Summer Pool League.  Bruce Honeyman and Ryan Carter maintained their 100% singles record as their side cruised to victory.  George Smith defeated Martin Hill to get a consolation frame for Camps1.  Blackstairs1 traveled out to Keiss to face Sinclair Bay in what turned out to be a highly entertaining match.  Tam Sutherland, Hamish New and Stuart Mckenzie helped the Blackstairs side take a 3-0 le...

Summer League Kicks Off

The first ever Wick & District Summer Pool League got underway on Monday night with Blackstairs "1" and Camps "2" scoring impressive 8-2 victories.
Perry Campbell's Blackstairs side traveled out to Lybster as they met The Commercial in their opening match.  Tam Sutheland, Stuart Mckenzie and Campbell won all of their frames as they helped their side to an 8-2 win.  Sandy Robertson & Wayne Claxton won their singles for The Commercial.

2nd Bfest Win For Stuart & Tam

George Smith Wins Captains Cup

Camps1 player George Smith saw off 26 other players to win his first ever Captains Cup title on Saturday.

Camps2 Win Rockwater Shield

Camps2 completed the league and cup double for the third season in a row thanks to a 6-4 win over Bayview1 in the Rockwater Shield Final.
James Riach, Andy Mcwatt and Ryan Carter all got the better of their opponents to see Camps2 take a 3-0 lead, with Riach completing a total clearance in the opening frame.  It looked as though the Camps side were cruising to victory, but the Lybster team were not going to give up without a fight.  Some exceptional pool was played as Bayview1 fought their way...

Response To Emails

I have received a few emails regarding the situation with the Francis Street Club1 lying about their result against Bayview1.  It is not up to me to decide punishment, but that of a vote from all teams at the next AGM.  The way i see it, there are only 3 options.  1. Warning 2. Points Deduction 3. Dismissal From League.  As the season is at its end plus the fact that we just had a meeting a few weeks ago, it makes sense to wait until the AGM where all teams will be present to decide what will...

Francis St Club1 Relegated

Due to a false report & scoreline submitted by the Francis Street Club1, the Wick & District Pool League's division one table has been updated to reflect the true scoreline.  Bayview1 defeated Francis Street Club1 8-3 which results in the latter being relegated from division one.  Queens' 9-2 victory over Camps1 see's them survive relegation & will play first division pool next season.

Camp2 Break More Records

Wick & District Pool League's division one champions Camps2 ended their 2011/12 campaign on a high with an 8-3 win over Blackstairs2.  This win saw the Camps side set a new record by finishing ten points clear at the top of the league.  Blackstairs2 battled well in the opening four frames which saw the match tied at 2-2, but some excellent play saw the champions take control of the match to clinch the two points.  Ryan Cook's fantastic clearance was the highlight of the night as he left his o...
