Wick & District Pool Team

I would like to send a Wick team off the the Scottish Team Championships next year.  It will be a 5 man team & 2 reserves.  The team would need go down on the Friday & back on Sunday or Monday.  We have some funds to help us out but players will need their own money for entry fees & bed & breakfast.  If you are interested, contact me on 07743555705 to put your name down.  Team selection will be done at a later date.  This is simply just to see how much interest there is....

Defending Champions Impressive In Opening Week

October 16, 2012
The Wick & District Pool League season got underway on Monday night with the first round first leg matches of the Rockwater Shield.  Defending champions Camps2 got off to a flying start with a 6-1 win against a strong Crown1 side.  Bruce Honeyman and David Hendry played some exceptional pool as they helped their side secure an important first leg victory.  Stevie Wylie won Crown1's only frame of the match.

FAO All players

This season all 14 teams will compete in one division.  Each team will play each other once (13 game weeks) & then the league will split into two divisions of 7 teams.  The top 7 teams will play each other one more time (6 more game weeks) as they battle it out for the first division title.  The bottom 7 teams will do the same as they compete for the second division title.  If there are more than 14 teams in next year’s league then divisions will be determined by where you placed this seaso...

Camps2 Win Summer Pool League

Ryan Carter's Camps2 side produced some outstanding pool in Monday nights final against Blackstairs1 to become the first ever winners of The Wick & District Summer Pool League.
The match started off with the seasons top two players (Carter & Stuart Mckenzie) battling it out for both the opening frame and the player of the season award.  Carter produced a fine clearance to win the frame, but would need Mckenzie to lose his next singles frame to win player of the season.  Bruce Honeyman made it ...

Sinclair Bay Go Out Fighting

Blackstairs1 and Camps2 will meet in the final of The Wick & District Summer Pool League next Monday after both teams narrowly fought their way through their semi final matches.
Perry Campbell's Blackstairs1 side edged out Bayview 6-4 in a close match.  Hamish New was playing well and helped Blackstairs take a 3-1 lead, but Bayview levelled the match at 3-3 after winning both their doubles frames.  The next two frames were shared before Campbell and New sealed their place in the final with two...

Carter's Camps Top The Table

Sinclair Bay and Bayview both won important matches on Monday night to secure their places in the semi final play-offs of the Wick & District Summer Pool League.  They will join Camps2 and Blackstairs1 in the semi finals next Monday.  Ted Gunn was on form once again as he helped his Bayview side to a 7-3 win over Blackstairs1.  Camps2 finish in 1st place thanks to a 7-3 win over Queens and will now face Sinclair Bay (who defeated Camps1 8-2 to finish in fourth place) in next weeks semi final....

Blackstairs1 Defeat Camps2

Perry Campbell's Blackstairs1 side are now top of the Wick & District Summer Pool League table after defeating Camps2 6-4 in a high quality match.  Tam Sutherland, Stuart Mckenzie and Perry Campbell were all successful in the opening stages as they helped Blackstairs take a 3-0 lead.  The Camps side then produced some well executed clearances to get right back into it at 3-3.  Tam Sutherland was next up as he faced off against Ryan Carter in an important seventh frame.  After controlling the ...

Queens Impressive In 6-4 Win

After a hard fought 7-3 victory over Sinclair Bay on Monday night, Camps2 have secured their place in the semi finals of the Wick & District Summer Pool League.  A draw next week against Blackstairs1 will be enough to ensure the Camps side qualify in first place.  Jim Bain was impressive again this week winning all his frames as his Queens side defeated Commercial 6-4.  They will play Sinclair Bay next week in an important match as both teams will be looking for the three points in their atte...

Camps2 Make It 4 Out Of 4

Camps2 made it four wins out of four thanks to an impressive 8-2 win over Blackstairs2 on Monday night in week four of the Wick & District Summer Pool League.  Ryan Cook played well as his Blackstairs side took a 1-0 lead but went 2-1 down after wins from Andy Mcwatt and Bruce Honeyman.  Camps2 captain Ryan Carter broke off in the fourth frame and cleared the table to give the Camps side a 3-1 lead.  The league leaders then took both doubles frames before Martin Hill defeated Alex Rosie to cl...
