One- Sided Affairs In Rockwater Quarters

Wick & District Pool League's Rockwater Shield quarter finals took place on Monday night with all four matches being one-sided affairs.  Ryan Cook's Blackstairs2 side traveled out to Lybster for their 1st leg match against The Commercial.  A weakend Comm team struggled to cope with the experienced Blackstairs team.  Gordon Steven and Trevor Banks completed nice clearances in their singles as they helped their Blackstairs side to a 6-1 win.  Darren Goodwill played well to give Blackstairs1 a 1-0 lead over defending champions Camps2, but the 6 times winners quickly turned the match around to take a 4-1 lead.  Camps2 halted any chance of a comeback as they ran out 6-2 winners.  Last years beaten finalist's Bayview1 hosted Seaforth Club in their 1st leg match, and have all but booked their place in the semi's after an impressive 6-0 win.  Sinclair Bay are also close to securing a semi final place.  Last season Bfest Pairs finalists Greg Simpson and Jordan Tait were instrumental in a 6-1 win over Suzanne Carter's Camps1 team.

Blackstairs "2" & Camps "2" Record 10-1 Wins

Blackstairs2 & Camps2 played some exceptional pool in game-week 8 of the Wick & District Pool League on Monday night as they both demolished their opponents 10-1.  Ryan Cook's Blackstairs side played away to The Queens in what was expected to be a close match.  James Riachs 8 ball clearance early on kick started what was an impressive team performance, which see's them move up to fifth in league table.
Bruce Honeyman's Camps side travelled out to Lybster as they met George Zindilis' Commercial...

Crown "1" Move Up To Third

Alan Larnach's Crown1 team moved up to third in the Wick & District Pool League table after another impressive victory on Monday night.  A great team performance saw them dispose of Camps1 9-2 in a one sided affair.  Stevie Cunningham was man of the match. winning all three of his games.
The Queens also remained on great form as they moved up to fourth place thanks to an 8-3 win over The Mountain Dew.  The lads from the Mountain put up a good fight with the match a lot closer than the scorelin...

Camps "2" Win Important Match Against Bayview "1"

Wick & District Pool League's defending champions Camps "2" produced their best performance of the season on Monday night with a 7-4 win over top side Bayview "1".  This win has seen the Camps Bar side avoid falling six points behind the league leaders, as they are now only 2 points adrift of Bayview "1" and Blackstairs "1".  Angus Mackay's fantastic clearance in the opening frame saw him hand Ryan Carter his first defeat of the season as Bayview "1" went 1-0 up.  Bruce Honeyman and Andy Mcwa...

Blackstairs "1" & Bayview "1" Go 4 Points Clear At Top

Bayview "1" and Blackstairs "1" kept their 100% win record intact on Monday night which keeps them joint top of the Wick & District Pool League.  Steve Atkins' Bayview side secured their fourth 9-2 victory in a row with another convincing win, this time over Crown "2".  Tam Sutherland's Blackstairs team battled it out with Harper's but edged them out 6-5 in a very close match. 
Camps "2" suffered their second 6-5 defeat of the season as they threw away a 5-3 lead to lose out against The Queens...

Wick & District Singles Pool League

I am taking names for a singles pool league.  £20 entry fee per person, matches to be played on a Wednesday night (or u can arrange another suitable date/time with your opponent aslong as its played before the following Wednesday).  It will either be a straight league (play each other once & the player who tops the league will win, or play each other once & top 4 go into semi finals knockout) this will be voted on by all entrants.

Crown "1" Defeat Camps "2"

Alan Larnach's Crown "1" side produced an outstanding team performance on Monday night as they ran out 6-5 winners against defending champions Camps "2".  Despite sinking both the black & white in two frames, Camps "2" went 3-2 ahead early in the match.  The next frame saw Stevie Cunningham clear the table in style to defeat David Hendry and level the match at 3-3.  Alan Stewart's outstanding potting ability helped him knock in a marvelous 7-ball clearance as his Crown side took a 4-3 lead.  ...

Sinclair Bay Cruise Through To Cup Quarters

Greg Simpson's Sinclair Bay side cruised through to the Quarter Finals of Wick & District Pool League's Rockwater Shield with an impressive 6-1 win over The Queens on Monday night.  A great team performance was key in this one sided affair.  Greg Thomson continued his good run of form for Sinclair Bay & nearly racked up another 8ball clearance but missed an awkward black to just miss out.

Seaforth Club Defeat Crown "1"

Wick & District Pool League's defending champions Camps "2" showed on Monday night why they are hot favorites to win a 7th league title by demolishing Harper's 11-0.  All six members of the Camps side played exceptionally well in a one-sided affair.  Last seasons runners up Bayview "1" have also got off to a great start this season as they secured another two points by defeating The Mountain Dew.  Seaforth Club produced the upset of the night when they beat Crown "1" 7-4.  Luck was certainly ...

Camps "1" Defeat Harper's In Epic Encounter

Week one of Wick & District Pool League kicked off in style on Monday night with an almighty battle between Camps1 and Harper's.  George Baker's Harper's side got off to a great start, taking a 2-0 lead.  John Cowie and Aidan Ross played well as they helped Camps1 pull it back to 2-2.  Baker and Andy Cormack were in fine form as Harper's took control of the match and went 5-3 ahead.  Camps1 ladies Suzanne Carter & Lesley Anne Begg produced some exceptional pool in the remaining frames to comp...
