Wick & District Pool League's second division has reached its
halfway point, with Sinclair Bay leading the way by only frame
difference over Harper's.
Mountain Dew1 put up a good fight but narrowly lost out 6-5 to Harper's. Crown2 recorded their first win of the season, beating Bayview2 6-5 in a close match.
The other match in division two went the way of Francis St Club2, who go to third in the league after defeating Mountain Dew2 7-4.
In Division one, Defending champions Camps2 made it seven wins out of seven by defeating Blackstairs1 7-4.
The Blackstairs side got off to a great start as they took a 3-2 lead, with Hamish New the star player in the singles. Camps2 then won four frames in a row to clinch the two points, with notable performances from Alec Thomson and Ryan Carter, with the latter completing a total clearance.
Crown1 & Bayview1 remain four points behind the league leaders after winning their matches on Monday night. Crown1 demolished The Commercial 10-1, while Bayview1 narrowly defeated The Queens 6-5.
After trailing 3-0 to Francis St Club1, The Seaforth Club played tremendously to win 8 frames in a row to take a vital two points. The highlight of the match being Craig Durrands excellent total clearance in the doubles.
The other match in division one saw Kenny Park's Camps1 side claw themselves off the bottom of the table with a 7-4 win over Blackstairs2.
The Quarter Finals of The Rockwater Shield take place next Monday, with the pick of ties being first placed Camps2 against second placed Crown1.
