Bayview1 and The Francis Street club recorded important 1st leg wins in the semi finals of the 2014/15 Rockwater Shield. Graham Harper's Francis St Club side looked for the win away to Queens Hotel that would help in their quest to make the cup final for a second year in a row. Brian Munro put together a great clearance for the club side in the opening frame to go 1-0 up, but the Queens would level the match thanks to Brian Robertson. The next frame saw Harry Candeland and Graham Harper locked in an almighty tactical battle, and it was the club side who took a 2-1 lead thanks to their captain Harper. Ricky Hernandez would then stretch their lead to 3-1 after James Dow went in off the black. Danny Innes impressed in the next frame as the FSC went 4-1 ahead, before Adam Scollay's outstanding potting helped reduce the Queens' deficit to 4-2. Brian Munro and Michael Mackay made it 5-2, before Candeland and Dow showed tremendous resilience to close the gap once again for Queens. Danny Innes sealed a 6-3 win for FSC in the next frame, and was undoubtedly the man of the match. Steve Atkins Bayview1 side put in an excellent team performance on Monday night, as they earned a 6-4 first leg victory over Crown1. Crown Bar's captain Alan Larnach made a great 8ball clearance as they battled hard to try and get a result. The Lybster team proved to be the better side on the night, but its all still to play for in the second leg.
