It was the perfect night for the Francis Street Club in The Wick & District Pool League as they joined Bayview1 at the top of division 1.
After going 2-0 down against the Blackstsairs1 it didnt look like things were going to go their way, But The Francis Street Club won 3 of the next 4 frames thanks to Martin Mcleod, Andy Edwards and Greg Thomson.  At 3-3 it was The Francis Street Club who showed the desire to win, with Edwards & Thompson winning again in their doubles to clinch the frame and the match with a 7-4 scorline.
Defending Champions Camps2 missed out on a chance to go top of the table when they were defeated by The Crown1.  Camps2 raced into a 4-0 lead, but The Crown never gave up and played some exceptional pool to win 7 frames in a row.  The Standout players of the match were Colin Banks & Bruce Davidson, both playing to a very high standard.
The Lybster Derby saw an upset as The Bayview1 lost their first game of the season to The Commercial.  The match went all the way to 5-5 and it was The Commercial's Lee Kerr who potted the winning black to clinch victory for his team.
The other match in division 1 saw Blackstairs2 travel out to Keiss to play The Sinclair Bay.  The Blackstairs team seem to have got their form back, going 4-2 up thanks to wins from Kevin Bartlett, Alex Rosie, Ryan Cook and Kevin Budge.  With Ryan Cook grannying his opponent in style in the 4th frame.  Blackstairs2 then clinched the match by winning the next 2 doubles frames, and went on to win with a final scoreline of 7-4.
In the second division Queens2 raced into a 5-1 lead, but were pulled back to 5-5 against a never give up Mountain Dew1 side.  However, it was the Queens2 that handled the pressure of a deciding frame with Andrew Coghill potting the vital black to win 6-5.  Sasa's Cellar Bar recorded their second win of the season, beating Crown2 7-4.
The second division now takes a break until the 31st of January, but there are still 3 games in hand to be played.  All teams are reminded to play their games by the time the league starts again on the 31st.
