Camps2 were crowned Wick & District Pool League's division one champions for a sixth time on Monday night with an impressive 8-3 win over Blackstairs1.  The first two frames were closely fought which saw the match stand at 1-1.  Ryan Carter & Bruce Honeyman defeated Perry Campbell & Stuart Mckenzie respectively to gve Camps2 a 3-1 lead.  The camps side then took complete control of the match as they stretched their lead to 8-1.  Blackstairs1 won the remaining two frames, one of which included a nice clearance from Alan Stewart who left his opponents with 7 balls on the table.  James Riach's & Alec Thomson's win in their doubles was the point in the match where Camps2 knew they had secured their fifth league title in six years.
Blackstairs2 have been on top form recently and are definately the most improved team in the league after narrowly fighting off relegation last season.  Ryan Cook's team continued their good form on Monday with a 7-4 win over Camps1.  Blackstairs2 went 3-0 behind With Camps player George Smith completing a total clearance in his singles.  Blackstairs2 (the only team to beat Camps2 this season) then fought back well to clinch another 2 points.
Bayview1 remain in second place thanks to a 6-5 win over bottom of the table Queens.  Crown1 slip to third in the league after a 7-4 loss to George Zindilis' Commercial side.  Seaforth Club are now 4 points clear of the relegation zone thanks to an impressive 7-4 win over Francis Street Club1.
Mountain Dew2 avoided finishing bottom of the second division with a fantastic 6-5 win over Francis Street Club2.  Silver Fox and Donald Manson were on fire for the Mountain side, with both players completing 8 ball total clearances.
Harper's ended their season on a high with a 7-4 win over Mountain Dew1, and Bayview2 were on form as they cruised to an 8-3 win against Crown2.
There will be a pool meeting in the Camps Bar on Wednesday 28th March at 8pm.
