Division One's top two teams met in the first leg of The Rockwater Shield quarter finals on Monday night.  Camps2 hosted Crown1 in what was expected to be an extremely close match.
The opening two frames could have gone either way, but it was Camps2 who took a 2-0 lead with wins from James Riach and Andy Mcwatt.  Bruce Davidson hoped to get his Crown side back into it in the third frame, but he never got a shot as Ryan Carter broke off and cleared the table leaving Davidson with seven balls.  Bruce Honeyman & David Hendry then stretched the lead to 5-0 with impressive wins over Alan Larnach & William Little.  Stevie Cunningham continued his great form this season as he finally got a frame on the board for Crown1, defeating Ian Mcdonald in a close match.  The Crown sides attempt at a comeback faltered in the next frame as Riach & Mcwatt clinched the all important frame for a 6-1 victory.
Ryan Cook's Blackstairs2 team have all but sealed their place in the semi finals after crushing second division side Francis Street Club2 6-0.
The other half of the draw produced much closer scorelines.  The Commercial won the Lybster derby 6-4 against Bayview1 and Camps1 defeated Harper's 6-4.
There will be a competition in the Francis Street Club on Saturday December 17th for second division players only.  For more information or to enter the tournament please call Ryan on 07743555705.
