Defending league champions Camps2 look a certainty to retain their title after a 10-1 win against Blackstairs2.  All singles matches were closely fought, however it was the Camps side that took a 6-0 lead.  The lead was extended to 10-0 with all Camps players on top form.  Blackstairs2 saved themselves from being whitewashed after a fine clearance from Keith Budge in the final frame.
Despite the loss, Blackstairs2 are now safe from relegation.
Either Sinclair Bay or Camps1 will be relegated next week, as both teams lost out 8-3 and 7-4 respectively.  Camps1 were 3-2 ahead at one point against Crown1, but were defeated thanks to Stevie Wyllie completing a difficult clearance to win the match.
The Francis Street Clubs slim chances of winning the league title were dashed as they were defeated 7-4 by The Commercial.
Next week see's the final round of matches in division 1, with the top four teams meeting each other.  The FSC host Bayview1, whilst Camps2 are away to Blackstairs1.
The 2011 Captains Cup will be held on the 7th May in The Crown Bar.  All teams in The Wick & District Pool League may submit 2 players to participate in the tournament.  Names must be given to the league secretary prior to the day of the event.
