The top three teams in Wick & District Pool League's Division One all recorded victories on Monday night, and are all in with a chance of winning the title with only one match remaining.  Bruce Honeyman's Camps2 side remain on top after their 9-3 win relegated Craig Durrand's Seaforth Club side to division two pool next season.  Bayview1 were impressive in their 8-4 home win against Sinclair Bay and remain in second spot, eight frames behind the league leaders.  Crown1 battled back from 4-2 down to win 7-5 against the Commercial, with Eric Larnach winning the all important frame that keeps his side with an outside chance of winning the title.  The Queens earned a hard fought 6-6 draw against the Blackstairs on Monday night as they look to avoid relegation.
The big match in division two saw Camps1 host Retro2 in a match that would see the winners take a massive step towards promotion.  Suzanne Carter's Camps1 side swept aside their rivals with a 9-3 win, and require only a draw against the Francis Street Club next week to win promotion.  Aidan Ross and Rian MacGregor played a key part for Camps1, winning all three of their games impressively.  The Mountain Dew's fantastic team performance saw them defeat the Francis Street Club 9-3 in a one-sided match, and Crown2 got back to winning ways as they edged out Harper's 7-5.
The 2014 Captains Cup will be held in Retro on Saturday April 5th, and each team may enter up to two players.  Text Ryan Carter on 07450993155 to put your teams entries in.
