Bayview1 took back second place in Wick & District Pool League's Division One after a final frame decider against Crown1 in a tense match. Crown1 got off to a good start with Stevie Wyllie beating Steve Atkins in the opening frame. Bayview1 pulled it back to 1-1 thanks to a great 8 ball clearance from Alistair Young. The next few frames were evenly shared, until the Lybster side put some distance between the teams to take a 5-3 lead. Crown1 fought back bravely to take the match to a deciding frame, but it was Bayview1 who clinched the all important two points.
Both Blackstairs teams completed fantastic comebacks on Monday night after they both fell 4-2 behind after the singles frames. Blackstairs1 players Perry Campbell and Tam Sutherland were on great form as they helped their side to a 6-5 win over Seaforth Club. Blackstairs2 defeated bottom side Queens 6-5 in a keenly contested match. League leaders Camps2 showed no signs of faltering as they eased to an 8-3 victory over Francis Street Club1. Camps1 remain in the relegation zone after losing out 7-4 to Commercial.
The top 2 teams in division two both recorded 6-5 wins, which see things unchanged at the top of the table. Sinclair Bay defeated Bayview2 and Harper's were victorious over Mountain Dew2.
Mountain Dew1 got off to a great start in their match against Crown2, with Jim Rabbits completing an 8 ball total clearance. The match eventually went to 5-5 and it was Grant Campbell who got the matching winning pot to clinch the two points for Crown2.
