Steve Atkins' Bayview1 side remain top of the Wick & District Pool League after an emphatic 9-2 victory over Greg Simpson's Sinclair Bay team.  A fantastic team performance saw the Lybster side quickly secure the two points as they raced into a 6-0 lead.  Crown1 are two points behind in second place thanks to an 8-3 win over George Baker's Harper's team.  Peter Butterfield put in a good performace for Harper's, but Eric Larnach's 8 ball clearance was the highlight of the Crown's victory.
Ryan Cook's Blackstairs2 got off to a great start against defending champions Camps2, wins from James Riach, Gordon Steven and Alex Rosie helped them take a 3-1 lead.  Good performances from Ian Mcdonald and David Hendry helped the Camps team level the match at 3-3.  Ryan Carter and Andy Mcwatt were clinical in their finishes as Camps2 took the next two frames for a 5-3 lead.  Trevor Banks and Ryan Cook played well to get the Blackstairs side back into the match at 5-4, but a cool finish from Camps2 captain Bruce Honeyman in the next frame secured the points for the champions.
Tam Sutherland's Blackstairs1 side hosted Bayview2 on Monday night, and got back to winning ways with a 7-4 win which see's them sit in fourth position.
Harry Candeland kept up his good run of form for his Queens team, as they battled to an 8-3 win over Camps1.  A few blackball frames which could have gone either way, were won by the more experienced Queens side.  Donald Manson played his first game for Camps1 on Monday night and is sure to have won himself a regular place after winning his singles, doubles, and trebles matches.
Andy Smith put in a good performance for Crown2 in their match against Seaforth Club, a close match ended in a 6-5 win for the Crown.
The Commercial got back to winning ways and were impressive in an 8-3 win over Mountain Dew.
With only four matches remaining before the league splits into two divisions, the majority of teams are now jockeying for position as they look for a place in the top 7.  The pick of next week's ties is the Crown Bar derby match.  Crown2 will be looking to keep on climbing the table, and Crown1 will aim to keep their title hunt on course.
