Monday night saw the wick & district pool league reach its halfway point, with The Bayview1 2 points clear at the top of Division 1.
They had an extremely tough match against The Francis St Club, as both teams gave their all in an attempt to top the table.
But it was Bayview1 that proved to be the stronger side winning 6-5 in a long tense match.
Camps2 started their match well against Blackstairs1, getting themselves into a 5-2 lead.  However, they were pegged back thanks to some outstanding pots from Hamish New, and then in the next frame Blackstairs1 Captain Perry Campbell made a wonderful 8-ball total clearance to bring his team back into the match at 5-4.  Campbell's total clearance was then matched in the next frame by the current holder of the Captains Cup Jimmy Riach, helping Camps2 to a vital two points.  Every frame in this match was played to an extremely high level by members of both teams, but its the Camps2 who now sit in second place.
The Commercial, who have been playing great recently, continued that trend with a great all round team performance to brush aside Sinclair Bay 8-3.
The other match in division 1 saw Blackstairs2 and Camps1 involved in a deciding frame battle.  After going 2-0 down, Blackstairs' Alex Rosie, Ryan Cook and Kevin Budge rallied to win 3 of the next 4 frames to square the match at 3-3 after the singles.  Blackstairs2 then continued on and went 5-3 up, but were pulled back to 5-5 by a determined Camps1 side.  It was all down to the last frame, and Ryan Cook continued his recent form to pot the winning black.
Queens2 defeated Bayview2 in a re-arranged fixture in division 2.  It was an extremely close match, with Queens2 player Jim Bain proving the difference with 3 game winning pots on the black to help his side to a 6-5 victory.
