The Wick & District Pool League will get underway on Monday 10th October. Last Seasons 2nd division winners Seaforth Club will face 1st division champions Camps2 in their first ever top flight match. Last years runners-up Bayview1 will host Camps1, Crown1 will play Blackstairs2, Blackstairs1 will battle it out with FSC1 and newly promoted Queens will face The Commercial.
7 teams will contest the second division again this season. Mountain Dew1 will travel out to Keiss to face Sinclair Bay, Mountain Dew2 will play Crown2 and The FSC2 will meet Sasa's Cellar Bar. Bayview2 Will have a free week in the opening round of matches.
This Season will see 2 teams relegated from division1 and 1 team promoted from the 2nd division (unless any NEW teams join the league next season).
As discussed at the AGM, there will be a trophy at the end of the season for the player who completes the most TOTAL CLEARANCES (potting all 7 object balls & the black in ONE visit) during the course of the season. I will create a new section to the website where you can view the current standings of The Total Clearance Challenge. Just dont forget to inform me of total clearances, otherwise u may miss out.
Stuart Mckenzie & Tam Sutherland will be defending their Bfest Annual Pairs Championship at the end of the season, as it was agreed at the meeting that this title will be the fourth & final major title in The Wick & District Pool League Season.
The Captians Cup will be held in The Camps Bar next year, and we should have a new trophy in place for the winner as the old one has most certainly seen its day.
