The big match in week three of the Wick & District Summer Pool League saw Camps1 defeat Retro 8-4 in a top of the table clash. The match was tied at 2-2 in the early stages, after 1-1 draws between Greg Thomson & Dave McGillivray and Tam Sutherland & Shane Honeyman.  Camps1 would create some distance in the next matchup as Ryan Carter earned a 2-0 win against James Ross.  Alan Steven and Alan Gibson shared a frame each in the next game as Camps1 maintained their two frame advantage at 5-3.  A nice finish by McGillivray in the next frame stretched Camps1's lead to 6-3 before James Ross pulled one back for Retro.  The next frame was a long scrappy one between Sutherland and Honeyman, but a fantastic double on the black by the young Camps player clinched an important victory for the defending champions.  The 2012 Summer League Winners Camps2 faced a tricky test away to Sinclair Bay on Monday night, but played well to clinch a hard-fought 8-4 win.  The Keiss side got off to a great start as Greg Simpson helped them take a 3-1 lead.  Camps2 battled away and would fight back to tie the match at 4-4 thanks to good play by Robbie Powell and Bruce Honeyman.  The last four frames all went the way of the Camps side as they earned another three points in their quest for a second title win.  The Commercial secured their first win of the season on Monday night thanks to an 8-4 win against the Mountain Dew.  George Zindilis' Lybster side played well to earn an important three points.
