Suzanne Carter's Camps Bar "1" team have won the 2014 Wick & District Summer Pool League Championship after defeating last years winners Queens Hotel 8-7 in the final. After four extremely close frames the finalists were tied at 2-2 in the early stages, but Shane Honeyman defeated Scott Risbridger 2-0 to give Camps "1" a 4-2 lead. Camps Bar "1" and The Queens Hotel booked their place in the 2014 Wick & District Summer Pool League final, after both sides recored 8-7 deciding frame victories over Retro "1" and Camps Bar "2" respectively. Both semi final matches ended in 7-7 draws, so a one frame shootout would decide this seasons finalists. Camps Bar "1" recorded an impressive 7-3 victory over defending champions Queens Hotel on Monday night to qualify for the semi final stage and finish in second place in the league. Dave Mcgillivray and Mark Alexander were the star players for Camps "1", winning both their singles aswell as an excellent 8-ball clearance for McGillivray. Camps Bar "2" are the first team to qualify for the Wick & District Summer Pool League semi final play-off stage after defeating defending champions Queens Hotel on Monday night. The 2012 champions got the better of the current holders in a match where both sets of players played some outstanding pool. Some nice clearances from Camps "2" helped them take a 3-1 lead, before great teamwork won the Queens side the two doubles games to level the match at 3-3. The Camps team took the lead again...
