Queens Hotel are this seasons Wick and District Pool League Division 2 champions, having defeated the Francis Street Club in the league decider. Played in the Seaforth Highlanders Club, this league decider was necessary because both teams finished on the same points with equal frame differences.

Steve Atkins' Bayview1 side have won the 2015 Rockwater Shield for a second time after a hardfought victory over the Queens Hotel. The team from Lybster, having previously won this knockout competition and having been strong contenders in league Division One were most people's strong favourites going in to the final against newly promoted Wick side Queens Hotel and indeed ran out 6-1 winners.

The IM's are 5 national ranking events held throughout the year at various venues around the country, which you can qualify for through local qualifiers. The first legs of Wick & District Pool League's Rockwater Shield semi finals produced the match of the season in one, and a massive upset in the other. Alan Larnach's Crown1 team hosted Bruce Honeymans Camps2 in a match that produced three 8-ball total clearances and some first class finishing. Steve Atkins Bayview1 side moved back to the top of division one on Monday night, after Crown1 held Camps2 to a 6-6 draw in week ten of the Wick & District Pool League. The Wick & District Singles Pool League will be starting mid-January aslong as theres enough interest. Entry will be £30 per person & all money will be paid back out to the top 3 players plus trophies. It will be capped at 16 players, so first come first serve.

Suzanne Carter's Camps1 team came back from 4-2 down against Mountain Dew on Monday night to earn their third draw in four games so far this season. Carter was the standout player in this match, winning all three of her games to help her side take a 6-5 lead. Ryan Cook's Blackstairs side recovered from a 6-4 first leg loss against Bayview to book their place in the Rockwater Shield Quarter Finals thanks to a 6-2 second leg win. Alan Larnach's Crown1 team showed great battling qualities on Monday night as they came from 3-0 down to defeat Retro1 6-4 in the first round of the Rockwater Shield. New boy's Retro1 and Francis Street Club both made it two wins out of two on Monday night and they sit joint top of Wick & District Pool Leagues second division. There are two upcoming pool competitions in Wick in the next few weeks.
The Camps Bar are raising money for Cancer Charities, and they are doing a speed pool competition on Saturday afternoon (19th) starting at 2pm. It will be £1 per go, and the player with the fastest time will get to take home a beautiful glass 8ball trophy for a year & then defend it the next year. The 2013/14 Wick & District Pool League season got underway on Monday night, with the Lybster derby between Bayview1 and The Commercial the pick of the ties. Raymond Gunn was the star player as he won all three of his games to help The Commercial cruise into a 7-1 lead. The 2nd annual Summer Pool League (Sponsored By The Commercial Hotel) will be starting in June. Pubs/Clubs have until the 31st of May to enter their teams. Fixtures will then be handed out to all participating pubs/club in early June with the first round of matches starting mid June. The Sinclair Bay Hotel hosted the 2013 Captain's Cup tournament this past Saturday in what turned out to be an exciting tournament with some great pool played by all participants. The star of the opening rounds was Sinclair Bay's Milky Ronaldson, who knocked out two former Captains Cup winners on his way to booking a semi final spot. This season all 14 teams will compete in one division. Each team will play each other once (13 game weeks) & then the league will split into two divisions of 7 teams. The top 7 teams will play each other one more time (6 more game weeks) as they battle it out for the first division title. The Rockwater Shield Last 16 second legs took place on Monday night with
the Blackstairs derby the match of the night. After winning the first
leg 6-4, Blackstairs1 required just five frames to progress to the next
round. Stuart Mckenzie and Tam Sutherland outplayed their opponents to

The Seaforth Club and Francis Street Club1 secured their first 2 points
of the season, both with 6-5 victories. Seaforth Club hosted their
rivals from the second division last year, The Queens. In a keenly
contested affair both teams could not be separated after the singles as
it stood at 3-3. Influentual performances from Gary Macalpine and team

Colin Banks' Crown1 side travelled out to Lybster to face Bayview1 in an
important match for both teams. Crown1 controlled the match well as
they went 4-2 ahead after the singles in mostly tactical frames. The

night. Blackstairs1 exacted revenge for the league defeat by battling
to a 6-4 win in a hard fought match against their rivals Blackstairs2.

The opening night of the Wick & District Pool league 2011/12 season
saw last seasons division 2 champions Seaforth Club face the current
division1 holders Camps2.
Ryan Carter got the match underway against former team mate Gary

Blackstairs1 clinched the last title of the season as Stuart Mckenzie and Tam Sutherland won The Bfest Annual Pairs Championship.
Group 1 was won by Ryan Carter & David Hendry after they defeated Kevin Bartlett & Sandy Mackenzie in the final match of the group. Martin Mcleod & Alan Stewart finished in joint second place with Bartlett & Mackenzie, and after a close play-off match it was Mcleod & Stewart who progressed to the semi finals.

Camps2 have completed their third treble in four years after James Riach won the captains cup tournament last Saturday.
The Crown Bar hosted the event which saw 29 entrants compete for the title.
The top half of the draw saw Riach ease through to the final, defeating Brian Banks, Bruce Honeyman and Hamish New on the way.
The Bottom half of the draw saw Crown1's Alan Larnach on top form. He defeated Donald Manson, David Hendry, 2 times captains cup winner Stuart Mckenzie, and Greg Beveridge.

Camps2 have won The Rockwater Shield for a record fifth time as they
defeated The Francis Street Club in the final on Monday night. They
have now won the league and cup double for the second season in a row.Alan

Camps2 were crowned
Wick & District Pool League division one champions for the fifth
time, after a 7-4 victory over Blackstairs1 on the final game of the
season.
All singles games were closely fought, but it was the Camps
side that took a 4-2 lead, with wins from Jimmy Riach, Andy Mcwatt,
Bruce Honeyman and Ian Mcdonald. Riach and Mcwatt then combined well to

Defending league champions Camps2 look a certainty
to retain their title after a 10-1 win against Blackstairs2. All
singles matches were closely fought, however it was the Camps side that
took a 6-0 lead. The lead was extended to 10-0 with all Camps players
on top form. Blackstairs2 saved themselves from being whitewashed after
a fine clearance from Keith Budge in the final frame.
Despite the

The Seaforth Club won the division two title in style on Monday night,
in their first ever season in The Wick & District Pool League. A
long grueling opening frame was eventually won by Gary McAlpine putting

The Camps derby proved to be a classic encounter on monday night, with
one team fighting relegation and the other fighting to retain their

The Rockwater Shield Quarter finals took place on monday night, with
defending champions Camps2 going through 12-7 on aggregate against the
Crown1.
The 2nd leg was the complete opposite of the first as there

The Francis Street Club lads are on a brilliant run, and that has continued as they beat The Commercial 6-2 on Wednesday night in their first leg tie of the Rockwater Shield Quarter Final. Martin Mcleod completed a nice clearance to clinch the eighth frame and the match.

convincingly beaten 8-3, putting the Bayview team top of the league and

Monday Night
saw some big turnarounds as the 2nd legs of the Rockwater Shield took
place.
