Blackstairs2 Fight Off Amazing Comeback

Monday night saw George Zindilis' Commercial team mount an outstanding comeback in their Rockwater Shield second leg tie against Blackstairs2, only to lose out in a 12-man play-off frame.  The Lybster team trailed 6-1 from the first leg but played exceptionally well to win the second leg 6-1 taking the match to a 6 versus 6 deciding frame.  Blackstair's player Alex Rosie secured his side a semi final place with a well executed clearance to win the tie for Ryan Cook's Blackstairs2 side.

Bayview1 Stay Top After Battle Against Seaforth

Craig Durrand's Seaforth Club side came close to an upset victory over league leaders Bayview1 on Monday night, but lost out in a very close deciding frame.  Kevin Beales got the club side off to a great start with a clinical performance, before Andrew Keith leveled the match at 1-1.  The Seaforth Club then won three frames in a row in impressive fashion thanks to wins from Phil Ablett, George Smith and Dale Johnston.  The Bayview team then displayed their fantastic tactical ability to win fo...

Bayview1 Remain Top After Emphatic Victory

Steve Atkins' Bayview1 side remain top of the Wick & District Pool League after an emphatic 9-2 victory over Greg Simpson's Sinclair Bay team.  A fantastic team performance saw the Lybster side quickly secure the two points as they raced into a 6-0 lead.  Crown1 are two points behind in second place thanks to an 8-3 win over George Baker's Harper's team.  Peter Butterfield put in a good performace for Harper's, but Eric Larnach's 8 ball clearance was the highlight of the Crown's victory.

One- Sided Affairs In Rockwater Quarters

Wick & District Pool League's Rockwater Shield quarter finals took place on Monday night with all four matches being one-sided affairs.  Ryan Cook's Blackstairs2 side traveled out to Lybster for their 1st leg match against The Commercial.  A weakend Comm team struggled to cope with the experienced Blackstairs team.  Gordon Steven and Trevor Banks completed nice clearances in their singles as they helped their Blackstairs side to a 6-1 win.  Darren Goodwill played well to give Blackstairs1 a 1...
